Maxx Explosion was inevitable.

Connecticut simply wasn't big enough to keep three of the hard rock world’s most formidable forces apart. The cosmic collision happened in 2001 while recording with metal icon Mike Vescera, eventually leading all three virtuosos into the ranks of melodic rock juggernaut House of Lords. But it was a legendary soundcheck in Budapest, Hungary—where bassist Chris McCarvill stepped up to the mic—that sparked a realization: together, as a trio, they possessed a lethal chemistry that couldn't be contained.

Formed formally in 2012 to be New England’s hottest cover band, Maxx Explosion quickly evolved into a world-class creative outlet for original music instead. They unleashed two critically acclaimed, now-rare studio albums—Forever (2013) and Dirty Angels (2015)—cementing their signature blend of '80s and '90s epic glam-infused hard rock with a modern, devastating punch. After a necessary hiatus while the band members dominated global arenas—Chris and BJ anchoring the rhythm section for Dokken, and Jimi shredding worldwide with Autograph—the stars have aligned.

In early 2026, the decision was made to reignite the engine. It wasn't just a restart; it became an absolute conflagration. Backed by elite technical proficiency, an unrivaled rock pedigree, and a legendary reputation for chaotic, fun-loving social media antics, Maxx Explosion is back, louder, and more dangerous than ever.
